The Strasbourg Eurometropolis, recently awarded the Towns and Lands of Art and History label, is brimming with cultural gems to discover during your business event. The perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and step off the beaten path.

A label celebrating heritage

In July 2025, the Strasbourg Eurometropolis, which includes 32 surrounding municipalities, received the Towns and Lands of Art and History distinction from the Regional Commission for Heritage and Architecture. Granted to Strasbourg in 2014, the label now extends to the entire Eurometropolis, a ten-year distinction recognising the area’s rich heritage!

This label highlights the tourism appeal of the surrounding towns, adding to Strasbourg’s already rich offering.

Explore the picturesque villages of Plobsheim, Holtzheim, Blaesheim, and Entzheim with their half-timbered houses and farms. Many of the towns boast remarkable heritage, like Eschau and its abbey church built in 996, one of the oldest preserved religious buildings in Alsace! And in Kolbsheim and Osthoffen, imposing castles invite you to step back in time.

The area is also home to the belt of forts surrounding Strasbourg, built by the Germans at the end of the 19th century, including Fort Frère in Oberhausbergen, Fort Rapp in Reichstett, Fort Kléber in Wolfisheim and Fort Ducrot in Mundolsheim.

The Eurometropolis of Strasbourg boasts unspoilt nature, perfect for a change of pace: the hillsides of Hausbergen with views of the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains, or the nature reserves of Illkirch and Robertsau – La Wantzenau. Not to mention the beautiful parks and gardens: the Schiltigheim rose garden, the Kolbsheim castle gardens or the monastic garden in Eschau.

There are also numerous event venues including the L’Illiade performance hall in Illkirch-Graffenstaden and the Le Kaleido event space in Vendenheim.
