We were honoured to host the joint meeting of the Société Française d’Immunologie (SFI) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Immunologie (DGfI), which was held at the Palais des Congrès in Strasbourg from 26 to 29 September 2023.

Objective: to highlight the key interests of the immunology societies in Strasbourg, Fribourg, and Basel.
More than 4,000 members of the French Society of Immunology (SFI) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Immunologie (DGfI) participated in the sessions, in addition to over a thousand guests, including scientists involved in fundamental and translational research, as well as French and German clinicians.

Held at Strasbourg’s Palais des Congrès, the conference served as an incubator for new ideas and exchanges, with the participation of internationally renowned scientists such as the US-based Diane Mathis, who began her career in Strasbourg alongside Pierre Chambon, as well as Christopher Buckley (United Kingdom), Chenqi Xu (China), and Sebastian Amigorena (France).

The focus of the meeting: cancer immunology.
Through presentation workshops, the conference also aimed to encourage a new generation of researchers. Special emphasis was placed on the Young Immunologists of the European Federation of Immunology, but also on development and clinical research. Industrial representatives were also invited to strengthen the scientific and technological impact of the research and advancements.
